I have exciting news to share with you!
Florida Family Action and our Board of Directors are unanimously endorsing Byron Donalds to be the next Governor of Florida.
For eight years, Governor Ron DeSantis has led Florida with uncommon courage. Florida is stronger because of his leadership. Choosing the governor who follows him is a responsibility we take seriously.
Our endorsement is not given lightly.
First, the endorsements we make as an organization must be evaluated through the lens of a biblical worldview to determine which candidates or issues are best for our state. Second, as Florida’s voice for biblical values, we seek to inform and represent the 17,000 Christian churches across Florida.
To reach our decisions, the Florida Family Action team prayerfully evaluates, interviews, and researches candidates, carefully examining their records and convictions through the lens of a biblical worldview.
After careful vetting and conversations with Byron, our board reached a unanimous decision.
Byron Donalds has earned our full endorsement. Here is why.
In the Florida House (2016–2020), Byron:
- Sponsored and passed HB 989 (2017), a first-of-its-kind law giving parents the right to challenge the instructional materials used in their children’s classrooms.
- Created the Hope Scholarship (2018) so students who are bullied or harassed can transfer to a private school of their family’s choosing.
- Cosponsored the 2020 version of the Parents’ Bill of Rights, which passed in 2021.
In Congress, Byron:
- Voted for the Parents Bill of Rights Act (2023) and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (2025), which created the first-ever federal tax-credit scholarship for K-12 education freedom and cut off Medicaid dollars to Planned Parenthood.
- Stood for biblical marriage by voting against the so-called Respect for Marriage Act (2022).
- Voted to protect women’s sports under the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.
- Pressed the Lee County school board (2021) to reverse guidance that opened school restrooms by gender identity.
Christians should also look carefully at the alternative. David Jolly presents himself as a voice above partisan divisions, but his stated plans have included repealing the Heartbeat Protection Act, which has saved thousands of babies’ lives each year. Jolly has also spoken out against Florida protecting children from irreversible gender reassignment procedures, flip flopped on parental rights and safeguarding women’s sports, and has sharply criticized Florida’s approach to school choice.
These positions are untenable and irreconcilable with biblical truth, and there is no moral equivalency between these two candidates and platforms.
This election is too significant to sit out, and the divide between candidates and futures is too great to ignore. Let’s keep Florida faithful and free! Steward your vote and Choose Well.
